Telecommunications is changing their name to “Network Services” and the Desktop Support team is now known as "Client Technologies".
“Telecommunication” is an older term, which others perceive as a voice only solution. Following trends and technology in the marketplace, Network Services is the better fit for the services provided by the Division.
Desktop support is commonly known as a service to a personal computer that is physically located on a desktop. With evolving technologies such as mobile devices, ITD provides services that extend beyond just desktops. Therefore, Client Technologies was a better fit to bring us in alignment with our service-focused objective that is client driven.
