Configuration Settings for Windows Messenger

  1. Start up Windows Messenger.
  2. Click on Tools - Options.
  3. In the "Options" window, click on the "Accounts" tab.
  4. On the "Accounts" tab, under the section that reads "SIP Communications Service Account" check the "My contacts include users of a SIP Communications Service" check box
  5. In the "Sign-in Name" field enter your email address as your name.
  6. Click on the "Advanced" button next to your sign in name.
  7. In the "SIP Communications Service Connection Configuration" window, select "Configure Settings" and then enter a server name of itdim.nd.gov
  8. Select to connect using TCP and then click OK.
  9. Click OK in the options window and then click on "click here to sign in".
  10. You will probably already be logged into Windows using the same Active Directory account that you use for IM and therefore won't get prompted for a password. However, if you are prompted for a user name and password, enter ndgov\your user id for the user name and your ndgov password for the password.
