North Dakota State Government Wireless Email Solutions

Wireless Email Home | Requesting Service | Wireless FAQ | Device Policies | Support

Mobile workers are always looking for ways to stay connected to their business while they are away. Wireless mobile devices are emerging as a tool that can supply that connectivity, allowing workers to always know what is going on back at the office. Within State Government, the mobile workforce is currently most concerned with wireless email. The need for these workers to have a current inbox and calendar at their fingertips has driven the need for an enterprise wireless email solution.

In response to this demand, and in conjunction with the ND Enterprise Architecture process, the Information Technology Department is pleased to offer an “enterprise-grade” wireless email solution. The infrastructure has been deployed to allow support for as many devices as possible, while keeping an eye on the future of this technology and what possible uses, beyond email, that it may have within State Government.

Features:

  • Wireless "Push" Email allows users to always have a current inbox on their device.
  • Wireless PIM Synchronization allows users to always have a current calendar, contacts, and task list on their device.
  • Server Enforced Security Policies ensure that devices are properly secured while in your possession, as well as if lost or stolen.
  • Meeting Invitations can be created, received, accepted, declined, and updated from a handheld device.
  • Attachments can be received, read, and on some devices created and saved.
  • Applications can be distributed to handheld devices, from the server.
  • Message Encryption ensures that your messages are secure during transmission to your handheld device.

Supported Mobile Devices:

  • BlackBerry Devices
  • Pocket PC/Windows Mobile Devices
  • Palm OS Devices
