5. Install and update user software applications.
6. Verify system backups/restore procedures.

Function:Agency Server Services

Service :Provide software installation and maintenance services to agency servers
Description : Provide technical support to state agencies in the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of file servers and LAN operating systems. Monitor LAN resources for state agencies and recommend upgrades, as needed. Research and assess the needs of an agency to determine the agency's technological direction. Research and test new features of network operating system to gain a better overall understanding.

Features :

1. Install network operating systems.
2. Install file server hardware, network printers and clients.
3. Download and apply regular updates/patches.
4. Upgrade existing server hardware including hard drives, memory, modems, network interface cards and CD-ROM drives.

Service :Provide space and furniture to house agency servers in a "secure" environment
Description: A location at ITD is used for housing agency servers allowing agency staff access to this area for support. The agency is responsible for the hardware and software in this environment.

Features :

1. Designated space for agency servers.
2. Furniture needed for hardware placement.
3. Connected to ITD UPS & backup power generator.
4. Controlled access provided by electronic security cards.
