Question:  Where did Host On Demand Go?
Answer:  Click on the bar in the left navigation menu that says Hosting and you will find it there.

Question:  How many people still use a modem for their internet connection?
Answer:  Just over 80% of home computer users are connecting through a 56K modem according to many statistics performed through the year 2001.

Question:  How come it takes so long to download a Microsoft Word document or one of those Adobe Acrobat PDF things?
Answer:  These types of documents come in pretty large file sizes many times. Plan to wait a bit if you are connected via 56K modem and want to download the information you have found.

Question:  I'm currently using Netscape 3.0 for a browser. Should I upgrade?
Answer:  Yes. Definitely. Version 3.0 browsers were functional four years ago and now are quite out of date. Also, they fail to render current technologies properly from a visual standpoint.

Question:  How big is ITD and is it growing?
Answer:  ITD currently employs about 235 IT professionals. ITD is currently expanding as a result of the recently completed legislative session and its approval of a number of initiatives.

Question:  Does ITD get attacked by very many computer viruses?
Answer:  ITD and State Government are constantly under attack by a variety of known and unknown computer viruses. ITD's Security Department does an outstanding job of blocking and disabling these computer virus outbreaks.

Question:  What role does ITD play in the State Wide Area Network Initiative?
Answer:  ITD is commissioning a broadband network to serve the needs of education and government as a result of the 1999 Legislative session through Senate Bill 2043. The completed network will connect 222 cities and 544 locations to broadband technology throughout the state of North Dakota.
