Meeting Notice

What is the iPad hype all about?  This session will provide participants an introductory experience with iPads and open their eyes to the multitude of ways they can be utilized at work and home.

Course Details

By attending this training you will become more adept with the iPad and  be able to identify uses for both home and work. This session includes:

• Explore the features of the iPad
• Operate and maintain an iPad
• Search for and download apps on iPad
• Understand basics of iPad use
• Explore built in apps on iPad

NOTE: There will be a limited amount of iPads available on first come first serve basis. Participants owning iPads are encouraged to bring or borrow from a friend.

8:00am - Networking, downloading apps

8:45am - Welcome

9:00am to 11:15am - Stations

Basic parts, functions System Preferences

Show all parts of the iPad, cameras, speaker, etc.

Select all, copy paste, inserting

Navigation between apps

Create folders, closing apps, deleting apps, and moving apps

System Preferences

Other (as requested during your time)

Basics Safari-option settings

Navigation browser interface

Bookmarking (just overview)

Add to homescreen (Workforce, PeopleSoft, ND DOT Roadmap)

Mailing (example email url to self or other)

• Play time - search for apps on own (set timer on screen)
• iBooks - download ibooks for assistance Top Tips, AppStart
• Play time - search for apps on own (set timer on screen)
• Built in Apps - Google Maps, reminders, settings, photos (how to create new albums and to move photos).

2:45pm to 3:00pm - Wrap up day

Registration

This session is limited to the first 60 participants that register.

Register through the PeopleSoft Self-Service ELM Portal. Click on Search Catalog and type "iPads" in the search catalog item box then click on Search Activities. Enroll in Utilizing iPads for Work and Play-Beginner Hands-On Session (Reference Activity Code 8521).

Cost is $45.00 per person.
