Meeting Notice

PMI Minnesota Chapter

The Minnesota Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) has engaged in an outreach effort for central North Dakota. Outreach events provide an opportunity for project managers, executives, sponsors, business analysts, business leads, students, and others to network with peers while taking in a no cost presentation on Project Management related topics.

Risk Management Techniques

This presentation is designed to focus on four key points in project risk management using a blend of lecture and classroom exercises. Dirk starts with discussion around how to write a good risk statement and why that is so important. The class will then have an opportunity to practice writing risk statements. Next he provides examples of tools to assist project managers in conducting quantitative risk analysis. The third key point is qualitative analysis. Dirk will provide examples on how to perform this type of analysis and the class will get to try their hand at a number of examples. Finally, Dirk will review the various risk responses and how these are best applied. There is one more exercise to practice developing the risk response.

Agenda

  • Registration and light lunch at 11:30 a.m. (Pizza and soft drinks)
