Dr. Lisa Feldner was appointed as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the state by Governor John Hoeven in April 2006. As CIO, she oversees technology activities in state government and education and ensures that ITD meets the legislative responsibilities defined within ND Century Code (Chapter 54-59).
Dr. Feldner is a member of the Governor's cabinet and provides advice to the governor on technology issues. She also serves on numerous committees and boards, including:
Prior to becoming CIO, Dr. Feldner served as the Technology Director for Bismarck Public Schools. She has bachelor’s degrees in computer science and business education, a master’s degree in mathematics education, and a doctor of philosophy degree in educational leadership.
Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons on their farm, where they raise horses.
