Job Announcements
Preparing and distributing a job announcement is the method most often used by North Dakota state agencies to communicate the existence of a vacant position to the agency’s employees and the public. In announcing a vacancy, administrators should:
Develop a job announcement that includes: class or working title; position number; salary range or projected hiring range; closing date; location; procedures for applying; name, address, telephone, and TDD of contact; summary of work; minimum requirements; type of recruitment (internal and/or external); Americans With Disabilities Act accommodation statement; status (full time or part time and regular or temporary); and any other information deemed appropriate by the agency.
Job announcements should be posted within the agency for positions to be filled on an internal basis. Such announcements should clearly indicate that they are intended for internal applicants only.
Notify Human Resource Management Services (HRMS) when an agency intends to fill a vacant classified, nontemporary position by recruiting outside the agency. This may be done by emailing the job vacancy announcement to HRMS, who will then publish the announcement to the worldwide web. The job announcement will also be distributed via email to the listserver to those job seekers who have subscribed. Job Service will also be notified via the listserver of any job vacancies announced in this manner.
