Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires high school diploma and up to one year of office support or business-related work experience.
  • Demonstrates ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; knowledge of proper grammar usage; normal vision, with or without correction; physical mobility, agility, and mental alertness compatible with an office setting including long periods of sitting.
  • Use of phone, calculator, copier, fax machine, scanner, keyboarding familiarity; personal computer with word processing, e-mail, and general office software. Quality, accuracy, and speed are important; dependability is a must.
  • Ability to be flexible in daily schedule; apply judgment in selecting appropriate guidelines; must be dependable; ability to respond & follow directions; work independently; function with minimal supervision; common sense is a must.
  • Quickly learn practices, principles, standards, and guidelines as related to motor vehicle regulations, North Dakota Century Code, general regulation, title and registration requirements of other governments, and familiarity with other state agencies.
  • Satisfactory completion of the interview process and a verifiable record of satisfactory performance in previous employment.

Summary of Work:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(Duties are not all inclusive nor limited to and are dependent on work assignment)

  1. Examine, review, and complete all title processes initiated in the contracted branch offices for fees, taxes, required data, and supporting documentation.
  2. Examine, review, and complete new or transfer title and registration applicants received via direct mail for supporting documentation, correct fees, and other required data.
  3. Start new or transfer title and registration processes including accurately entering all data to ensure customers receive timely title and registration services.
  4. Review title and registration applications for fraudulent documentation.
  5. Return incomplete applications to the appropriate respondent with instructions on step(s) necessary to complete the application.
  6. Assist Motor Carrier Section with mail and data entry of Motor Carrier programs.
  7. Assist Support Operations with incoming mail and imaging process.

Note: There will be one week of concentrated training with direct individual training for up to one month.
