Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a natural/historical/cultural resource, environmental education, or a closely related field and one year of experience related to interpretive programs/education.
Desired experience:
- Work cooperatively and independently within agency and external with partners.
- Design, teach and evaluate environmental education programs and curriculum.
- Communicate clearly with public and maintain high degree of motivation.
- Must have proven track record of building positive relationship with interest groups.
- Handle multi-tasks at one time.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications.

Summary
of Work:
This position will serve as the Full Time Interpreter at Cross Ranch State Park. A primary function will be Interpretation related to the natural, historical, and cultural aspects of the Missouri River Valley, including the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
- Responsible for developing, scheduling, planning, coordinating, and presenting educational programs, workshops and presentations related to the natural, historical, and cultural aspects of the Missouri River Valley, including all aspects of the Lewis and Clark Expedition for schools, youth and adult groups and general public at site and in schools
- Responsible for development and monitoring Lewis and Clark operating budget to include search for private/federal funding sources.
- Responsible for development and coordination of related interpretive activities to include educational written and display materials at the five Lewis & Clark Trail parks.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with the National Park Service, Knife River Indian Village, Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center and Corps of Engineers.
- Responsible for coordination and oversight of all Cross Ranch State Park Interpretive programs and activities including supervision of seasonal interpretive staff, interns and volunteers
- Assist with the operation of Cross Ranch State Park, including operating the visitor center, renting cabins and canoes, periodic cleaning, and informing the public about park rules and regulations.
- This position is responsible to assist the Department with the development of trail education programs, workshops, curriculum materials, displays, exhibits, promotional materials and interpretive trails as needed.
Comments: This position will require weekend/holiday work, outside work under varying weather conditions and statewide travel.
