Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate in Applied Science Degree in Business and Office Technology
  • Two- five years of full time work experience involving duties as a lead worker or supervisor having responsibilities for providing administrative support to Corporate Executive Officers, Division Directors, or as a lead worker or supervisor of a large administrative support unit responsible for providing administrative support to several major divisions, programs and/or projects.
  • Competency in use of Microsoft word, excel, outlook, and publisher.
  • Web Page development  and maintenance experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills.
  • Proficient in the use of good grammar and spelling.

Preferences:

  • Experience in providing administrative support to boards of directors, advisory committees or councils.
  • Must be able to effectively and efficiently manage several projects and tasks and complete assignments within established due dates.

Summary of Work:

The Administrative Officer will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Director and other professional staff of the Workforce Development Division of the Department of Commerce. Responsibilities will include administrative support for projects of the Division and providing support to the North Dakota Workforce Development Council, the North Dakota Youth Development Council, the North Dakota State Commission on National and Community Service, the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives and the committees and working groups of each of the Councils and Commission.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Web Site coordination and maintenance:

Prepare quarterly newsletters for the North Dakota Workforce Development Council and North Dakota State Commission on National and Community Service. 
         
Provide administrative support to Division Director and Program Officer arranging for meetings of the North Dakota Workforce Development Council, the North Dakota Youth Development Council, the North Dakota State Commission on Community and National Service and subcommittees and workgroups of the Councils and Commission.

Provide administrative support to the Division Director and professional staff.
