Minimum Qualifications:

Requires an associate degree in an engineering, geology, or earth science field and at least 2 years of associated experience. Work experience may substitute for the degree requirements on a year for year basis. The candidate must have good interpersonal and communication skills. Preference will be given to individuals with a geology and/or petroleum engineering background.

Summary of Work:

The primary responsibilities associated with this job consist of assisting a petroleum engineer in reviewing completion reports, plugging reports, sundry notices, and drill stem tests.

Secondary responsibilities include maintaining a database of drilling and spacing units, assisting with engineering and geologic studies, and compiling oil and gas drilling and production statistics.

Additional duties include reviewing and revising field and unit boundaries pursuant to Industrial Commission orders, assisting with the backlog of certified horizontal surveys, and performing area calculations in conjunction with the geologist on unitization studies.
