Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor’s degree with a major in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, or business administration and four years of work experience that included managing communications, costs, staff, change, scope, and risk associated with project assignments; or a bachelor’s degree with a major in another field and six years of the work experience described. 

NOTE: If unable to find applicants who meet the above minimum outlined qualifications, the hiring authority reserves the right to underfill the position for up to two years at the Project Manager I or II level.

The successful applicant must possess the ability to create well-written business communications such as business cases, project plans, scope of work, and contracts.  Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to all levels in the organization is required.

Preferred Skills:

The preferred applicant will have formal Project Management training and/or certification.

Summary of Work:

Manage small to large scale IT projects through all phases of a project lifecycle, such as Origination/Initiation (initiate the project, project charter, and project kick-off); project planning (develop plan, confirm approval to proceed); execution and control (carry out the project, manage project and gain project acceptance); closing (prepare post-implementation review and administrative closeout). Responsible for all aspects of IT contract management and working with vendors to provide scope of service. Responsible for IT procurement practices for IT services in order to comply with state procurement practices.  Primavera Project Management software administrator for the agency and representative on the Primavera Center of Excellence.
