Minimum Qualifications:
A PROFESSIONAL WORK-RELATED WRITING SAMPLE IS REQUIRED WITH APPLICATION. FAILURE TO PROVIDE WRITING SAMPLE WILL DISQUALIFY APPLICANT FROM FURTHER CONSIDERATION.
Requires one of the following:
- A bachelor’s degree in an information technology-related field, business or public administration, or administrative/office management, and two years of work experience determining eligibility for human service programs or directly related to the human service program; OR
- Six years of work experience determining eligibility for human service programs or directly related to the human service program; OR
- Any combination of college course work and experience determining eligibility for human service economic assistance programs or directly related to the human service program, totaling six years, at least two years of which must have been determining eligibility for human service economic assistance programs or directly related to the human service program.
If no qualified applicants are found, we will consider under filling this position as a System Support Specialist I (4005), with a salary range of $2315 - $3086 per month. Minimum qualifications require one of the following:
- A bachelor’s degree in an information technology-related field, business or public administration, or administrative/office management, and one year of work experience determining eligibility for human service programs or directly related to the human service program; OR
- Five years of work experience determining eligibility for human service programs or directly related to the human service program; OR
- Any combination of college course work and experience determining eligibility for human service economic assistance programs or directly related to the human service program, totaling five years, at least one year of which must have been determining eligibility for human service economic assistance programs or directly related to the human service program.
Human Service Economic Assistance Programs are: Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Food Stamps, Foster Care and Medicaid.
Preference will be given to applicants experience with:
- Food Stamp, TANF, Medicaid and Healthy Steps programs
- TECS and Vision system
The successful applicant must possess the following:
- Strong verbal and oral communication skills;
- Innovative with strong analytical and problem solving skills;
- Skills required to develop and conduct training;
- Ability to efficiently organize and prioritize work and manage time; and
- Be dependable, flexible and resourceful as business needs arise.

Summary
of Work:
-
Perform help desk, maintenance, and training duties and including major enhancements or projects for the TECS and Vision eligibility computer systems for Food Stamps, TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Medicaid and Healthy Steps programs

Identify, research, analyze, and resolve systems problems during the system analysis and design phase for enhancements and projects.

Identify, research, analyze, design, and process comprehensive work requests, test plans, and case scenarios during the acceptance testing phase for enhancements and projects to test policy changes, systems problems, and resolutions.

Collaborate with policy staff, systems users, and programmers/analysts from the Information Technology Department (ITD) and consultants from Information Technology Services (ITS) for problem resolution throughout the analysis, design, and testing phases for enhancements and projects.

Monitor system activities to provide effective planning and enhancement of the systems.

Maintain knowledge of interfaces between DHS computer systems and systems of other government agencies to research, analyze, and resolve problems.

May serve as a lead for support, maintenance, training, enhancements, or projects.
