Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a high school diploma or GED and one year of work experience with children, adolescents, or patients/clients in a direct service capacity or in an educational setting.

Preference will be given to those who have worked directly with children and/or their families in an agency setting within the past three years.

Due to the vulnerability and needs of clients served by the services provided, a criminal background check and a driver’s record check may be performed prior to employment. This position requires some transportation of clients, therefore proof of capability to transport clients and adequate vehicle insurance are required. Individuals will be required to be available to work non-traditional work hours.

Summary
of Work:
Participate in developing a client treatment plan for families to provide an appropriate level and type of service. Provide and/or nurture parenting skills through demonstration and instruction. Provide instruction and guidance in budget planning, money management and related skills, which will maximize a family's resources. Provide instruction and guidance in proper nutrition through menu planning, food preparation techniques, planned grocery purchasing, and identifying alternative food sources. Provide instruction and guidance in performing household tasks, personal care tasks and related hygiene needs. Provide information, instruction and guidance in utilizing community resources and participating in community activities to reduce isolation. Perform required documentation and record keeping relating to assigned cases. Provide transportation, as service plans require. Provide supervision/documentation during visitations between children in the county’s legal custody and their parents for purpose of court hearings. May be required to testify in court hearings.
