Minimum Qualifications:

BA/BS in Deaf Education or credential in hearing loss
Valid or eligible for North Dakota Education Professional Certificate
Willingness to obtain certification in Early Childhood or related coursework

Preference will be given to applicants with:

Experience as a teacher of the deaf
Knowledge of sign language

Summary of Work:

Provide home intervention programming for deaf/hard of hearing infants birth through age five
Provide educational and consultation services to students birth to 21 who are deaf/hard of hearing
Provide the knowledge of impact of hearing loss to meet individual needs
Facilitate home visits and discussion related to hearing loss, communication options, language, speech, auditory development
Collaboration with schools and agencies serving children with hearing loss
Provide the knowledge and experience with assessment tools, methods and techniques for use with deaf/hard of hearing students
Ability to use assessment results to guide programming for students
Provide the knowledge of and experience with range of communication philosophies and approaches
Ability to use audiology results and identify implications
Provide the knowledge of specialized methods, strategies, equipment and support needs for deaf/hard of hearing
