Minimum Qualifications: Requires an associate degree with coursework in office support, business, or office education and four years of experience performing a variety of high level, complex office support, clerical, or secretarial duties that included supervisory, lead work, or office coordination responsibilities. Additional work experience as just described may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis. Work experience in a legal setting will be given preference over work experience in other settings.

Summary
of Work:
The Administrative Assistant III is responsible for coordinating and providing administrative support to the Minot Public Defender office, which provides for the delivery of state-funded legal counsel services for indigent defense within the State of North Dakota.
Responsibilities include:
- Office Management – Handle district case assignments; supervise administrative staff and assign administrative tasks; work with main office to coordinate office compliance with state regulations, rules, guidelines, etc.
- Provide administrative support for office operations to include maintaining stock of office supplies, equipment, forms, and promotional materials.
- Provide administrative assistance in the preparation of legal documents, correspondence, reports and forms for attorneys for court cases or hearings; maintenance of criminal defense files.
- Records management duties to include establish, organize, and maintain all office files-electronic and hardcopy; establish and maintain records retention schedule.
- Compile, verify, and enter accounting and budget-related data for office fiscal and budget development.
- Make travel and lodging arrangements for office staff.
- Performs other duties as necessary and/or assigned.
