Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree with a Major in Accounting. (December 2009 and May 2010 graduates are encouraged to apply).

Must be able to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing, to other staff members and audit clients.

Analytical ability.

Ability to recognize deficiencies and make recommendations for change.

Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organization skills and proven ability to deal with people in a personable and courteous manner.

Word processing and spread sheet skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have a 3.0 GPA or higher in accounting courses.
- Currently a CPA or conditioned on the CPA exam.
- Government auditing experience.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft.

Summary of Work:
- Under immediate to close supervision, receives training in and assists in conducting audits of state entities. As knowledge and skills increase, individual will be given additional responsibility.
- Assists in the performance of the audit of the general purpose financial statements and a review of the material included in the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) of the state and perform audits of state agencies.
- Assists in the examination of financial records data.
- Assists in the Statewide Single Audit (federal compliance).
- Analyzes accounting forms, records, internal controls, and related computer systems.
- Assists in conducting performance audits.
