Project Manager III - 2919980: Bachelor’s degree with a major in computer science, computer or management information systems, or a closely related field, and four years of current and progressive related project management work experience that included managing communications, cost, staff, change, scope, and risk associated with project assignments; or a Bachelor’s degree with a major in another field and six years of related work experience as described.
Project Manager II - 2919981: Bachelor’s degree with a major in computer science, computer or management information systems, or a closely related field, and three years of current and progressive work experience that involved business process analysis, project plan development, group facilitation, and management of staff; or a Bachelor’s degree with a major in another field and five years of related work experience as described.
Project Manager I - 2919982 : Bachelor’s degree with a major in computer science, computer or management information systems, or a closely related field, and two years of current and progressive work experience that involved business process analysis; or a Bachelor’s degree with a major in another field and four years of related work experience as described.The hiring manager will attempt to fill the position at the Project Manager III level. If not successful, the hiring manager reserves the right to under fill this position as a Project Manager II or Project Manager I.

Summary of Work:
Work involves the application of project management principles, methodologies, standards, and best practices in managing, on an ongoing basis, all phases of information technology project management including origination, initiation, planning, execution and control, and closure. Responsible for performing project management duties on large, complex information technology projects for State of ND customers using established best practices, tools and guidelines. Duties include planning, monitoring, reporting and coordinating people, process and technology as needed to deliver on time and on budget project implementations. Duties may also include oversight of projects managed by others and mentoring others involved in project management. Effective communication skills and ability to build & maintain solid working relations with staff, agency executives, legislators and consultant personnel, is essential for project success.
- Developing a project plan
- Developing a project schedule using MS Project
- Assist in developing the project goals, objectives, milestones, and functional/features requirements
- Create cost and time estimates with the help of the project team members
- Identify and obtain resources for the project
- Team mentoring and development (depending on the level of Job Classification)
- Identify and resolve project conflicts
- Update and publish the project schedule
- Identify project risks and problem areas, which need to be resolved
- Attend status meetings
- Assure that proper documentation is prepared and maintained
- Monitor time/deadlines and cost of the project
- Communicate status of the project to stakeholders and immediate supervisors
- Arrange meetings for the project team
- Coordinate the efforts of ITD staff, customers and vendor
