Bismarck Minimum Qualifications: An Associates Degree in a computer related field and 3 years of current and progressive responsible work experience in the setup and maintenance of desktops, laptops, network workstations, printers and peripherals; installation and configuration of operating systems and a wide variety of software; testing of all aspects of desktop functionality and integration or 5 years of current and progressive responsible work experience as stated above. Preferred Skills Preference will be given for certifications in A+, MCP, MCSE, MCSA and experience with desktop automation tools such as Altiris. Summary of Work: Individual will work within a team environment supporting a diverse desktop infrastructure. Requires a high degree of written and/or verbal communication skills in dealing with employees at all levels, clients and vendors. Duties include the setup and maintenance of desktops, laptops, network workstations, printers and peripherals; installation and configuration of operating systems and a wide variety of software; testing of all aspects of desktop functionality and integration. Train users on fundamentals of new operating systems, software applications, peripherals and remote accessibility. Individual will also conduct research and test new operating systems, hardware and software; maintain awareness of software upgrades and patches; patch systems as appropriate; maintain documentation of all aspect of supporting the desktop environment. Maintain awareness of hardware and software environment and provide appropriate recommendations on hardware and software upgrades. Maintain and utilize system maintenance tools; provide communication with vendors as necessary to resolve hardware and software problems. Participate in the administration of desktop management infrastructure along with researching and implementing solutions for continued automation of desktop infrastructure.
