JUVENILE CORRECTIONS INTAKE TREATMENT COORDINATOR (4307)
Grade 11
Scope of Work:
Work involves providing initial treatment program development to adjudicated youth at the North Dakota Youth Correctional Center (NDYCC).
Duties Performed:
- Gather program-relevant information on juvenile histories; administer preselected tests to develop a therapeutic student profile; create a receiving and development plan in conjunction with others on the triage team utilizing screening tools and interview information; provide assessment, and recommendations for most appropriate treatment plans.
- Coordinate and facilitate mental health appointments, educational testing, or other treatment related screening procedures; provide feedback to Treatment Director and Juvenile Services Program Director.
- Prepare and distribute case notes and Receiving and Development (R &D) Reports on long term treatment juveniles to all designated staff.
- Ensure that the living unit director and residence specialist have knowledge regarding juvenile histories and program expectations.
- Facilitate orientation, counseling, and understanding of program expectations and daily living skills to assist juveniles in their adjustment to NDYCC environment.
- Communicate to families an introduction to the Intake Program, treatment structure, and program developments for their youth who are incarcerated at the NDYCC.
- Serve as a liaison to Community Corrections Specialists; keep them informed of juvenile behavioral developments, case documents, and plans; offer program definitions or suggestions on placement alternatives.
- Provide staff training for the risk assessment systems; update as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, social work or a another social or behavioral science field and two years of professional work experience in juvenile corrections.
