North Dakota Class Description

JUVENILE CORRECTIONS INSTITUTIONAL CASE MANAGER (4305-6)

Scope of Work:

Work involves providing institutional case management to incarcerated juveniles at the North Dakota Youth Correctional Center (NDYCC).

Duties Performed at all Levels:

NOTE: The duties listed are not intended to be all-inclusive. Duties assigned any individual employee are at the discretion of the appointing authority.

JUVENILE CORRECTIONS INSTITUTIONAL CASE MANAGER I (4305)

Grade 10

Level Definition:

Positions at this level provide programming and case management services to assigned cases of incarcerated juveniles at the NDYCC.

Additional Duties Performed at this Level:

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, sociology, education, or a closely related field and two years of work experience in dealing with the behavioral intervention and counseling needs of offenders. A master’s degree in one of the disciplines listed above may substitute for one year of the work experience requirement. The hiring authority may identify the specific degree required at the time of recruitment depending on the position to be filled.

JUVENILE CORRECTIONS INSTITUTIONAL CASE MANAGER II (4306)

Grade 11

Level Definition:

Positions at this level provide approved specialized therapeutic services and programming, based on research and need, to the entire campus population; in addition to the required duties as listed within the first level of classification.

Additional Duties Performed at this Level:

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, sociology, education, or a closely related field and three years of work experience as a Juvenile Corrections Institutional Case Manager I. A master’s degree in one of the disciplines listed above may substitute for one year of the work experience requirement. The hiring authority may identify the specific degree required at the time of recruitment depending on the position to be filled. Must demonstrate current involvement in programming and maintain specialist status through certification, licensure, through established programs or ongoing professional development in a specialized service area. Specific proficiencies regarding specialized areas will be determined by the agency.
