VOCATIONAL TRAINING TECHNICIAN (4273)
Grade 7
Scope of Work:
Work involves training special population clients in areas of meaningful, productive work that is best suited to client’s abilities and interests.
Duties Performed:
- Set up, plan, and organize work sites by breaking down tasks involved and matched to client’s abilities and interests.
- Document attendance, behavioral concerns, medical problems, and training progress.
- Maintain training records and ensure that client’s goals are being worked on through staff interaction.
- Provide in-service staff training on methods used for each client.
- Provide on-site direction to clients in training areas; assign work and break times.
- Collect vocational data and assist in evaluation of clients by preparing daily/annual assessments regarding independence level, production rate, and work interest.
- Participate as a member of the individual habilitation plan team by providing information relating to client progress and vocational concerns.
- Purchase supplies and materials; ensure that production goals for goods and/or services are met.
- Assist in evaluating new products, find markets for services or products, and develop marketing strategies and pricing.
- Maintain data relating to client wage scales.

Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma or GED and two years of experience working with special populations in a direct service capacity. The hiring authority may define more specific education and work experience requirements of the indicated type and level depending on the position being filled.
