SCOPE OF WORK:
Work involves planning and conducting programs of religious
activities and participating in clinical and rehabilitative programs.
DUTIES PERFORMED:
- Participate as a member of a professional therapeutic
team or individually provide pastoral care and counseling.
- Provide counseling for chemically dependent residents
at their request.
- Conduct worship services.
- Write chaplaincy assessments.
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate departmental programs
in consultation with other staff.
- Participate as a member of a professional therapeutic
team in providing guidance to residents or clients.
- Counsel and/or advise residents concerning spiritual
matters and personal problems.
- Assist in providing clinical and other education for
students seeking continuing professional and personal development.
- Provide assistance, consultation, and training to other
state agencies, institutions, and/or other entities.
- Participate in community associations as assigned.

authority.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires ordination, commissioning, licensing, or endorsement
by a recognized religious community.
CLASS EVALUATION:
Technical Knowledge
- Requires knowledge of principles, concepts, and methodology.
- Requires completion of a master's degree.
- Requires extensive experience in duties of an equivalent
type and complexity as those performed at this level.

- The requirement for managing others does not exist.
Interpersonal Skills
- Requires extensive written and verbal communication
skills needed to motivate, convince, and/or change behavior or attitude
of contacts.
Guidelines
- General guidelines exist.
- Requires judgement in selecting appropriate guidelines.
- Interpretation/adaptation of guidelines is required
for specific cases/problems.

- Duties are defined in general terms and may vary depending
upon circumstances.
- A variety of unrelated procedures are provided for performing
duties under varying circumstances.
- Analyzing circumstances to select appropriate procedure
to use is necessary.

- Duties include coordinating policy interpretation and
individual initiative.
- Problems are solved by revising the procedures or methods
needed to fit the situation.
