The Vietnam War was not included on the poster due to a lack of space and a lack of good images in the collections. The State Historical Society of North Dakota, Department of Special Collections, University of North Dakota, and North Dakota Institute for Regional Studies, North Dakota State University invite donations of images and documents related to North Dakota veterans and their involvement in various conflicts, particularly for more recent wars such as the Vietnam War and the Gulf War, which are under-represented in the historical collections.

In addition, the North Dakota Veterans History Project urges veterans who wish to record their stories or contribute memoirs or documents related to their military service to contact the project coordinators. Anyone wishing to volunteer to conduct interviews or transcribe interviews should also contact the project coordinators by email at vethist@state.nd.us or by telephone at 701-328-3533.
