Federal Review
Under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, federal agencies and their delegates must consult with the State Historic Preservation Office, Tribal Historic Preservation Offices (THPOs), local governments, applicants and interested individuals and groups.
State Review
Historic and prehistoric sites that are found or located upon any land owned by the state or its political subdivision and are significant in understanding and interpreting the history and prehistory of the state is subject to review by the State Historical Society (NDCC 55-02-07).
