North Dakota's history is a book with many chapters. Pages full of drama with characters as unique and memorable as the state they helped create. Each meant to be studied and shared, preserved and passed on. Help us make sure this happens by joining the State Historical Society of North Dakota Foundation. Membership and donations help us save and share yesterday and today's history for future generations. It's an investment that extends beyond our years.
The State Historical Society of North Dakota Foundation is a private, non-profit organization supported by membership and donations. The Foundation was formed in 1965 by the state legislature to generate private financial support for the State Historical Society's projects and programs that cannot be funded by the legislature.
Foundation dollars, generously donated by people like you, are primarily responsible for building the North Dakota Heritage Center and Pembina State Museum in which valuable North Dakota collectables are stored and exhibited. the construction of the exhibits at both locations, printing quarterly issues of North Dakota History: Journal of the Northern Plains, underwriting the Society's annual history conference, directional and interpretive signage at historic sites, promoting new exhibit openings, improvements and maintenance at historic sites throughout the state and more.
We invite you and your family to be a part of the growing excitement of saving and sharing North Dakota's heritage through membership in the Foundation. The Foundation multiplies your gift into support for restoring and preserving 56 historic sites, additional exhibit space and new exhibits at the Society's two museums, statewide educational programs for children and adults, and so much more.
