The 40th Northern Great Plains History Conference, sponsored by the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, will be held September 29–October 1, 2005, at the Plaza Hotel and Suites in Eau Claire. The keynote speaker for the banquet will be Donald Ritche of the U.S. Senate Historian’s office. Proposals for papers or sessions in any area of history are welcome. Send one-page abstracts and vitae by March 31, 2005, to Robert Gough, Department of History, University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, Eau Claire, WI 54702-4004.

2005 Missouri Valley History Conference

The 48th Annual Missouri Valley History Conference will be held March 3–5, 2005, in Omaha, Nebraska. Proposals for papers and sessions in all areas of history are welcome. Send a one-page abstract and brief vitae by October 15, 2004, to Prof. Thomas Buchanan, Department of History, University of Nebraska at Omaha, Omaha, NE 68182 or send e-mail to mvhc@unomaha.edu. Those wishing to have their proposals acknowledged should include a stamped, self-addressed postcard.
