Coordinated Training
The North Dakota GIS Technical Committee (GISTC) coordinates ESRI training when we hear of a common need. If enough interest is expressed in a given ESRI course to make it cost effective, the GISTC will organize training with an ESRI instructor or through an Authorized Learning Center if technically possible (there may be some courses where the training lab cannot accommodate the required training needs such as database or hardware). Training facilities are in Bismarck, using a training lab typically located at a state agency. If you would like to express an interest in an ESRI class (as listed by ESRI, please see the Course Listing and Details link above), please contact us (by clicking on CONTACT NDGIS to the left, then clicking Feedback, then in the window that pops up click on the 'glitches' link), telling us of the name of the course you are interested in and how many people would like to attend. We will place your information on a list and will send a notice out to the GIS listserv asking for similiar expressions of interest. If there is enough interest and it appears that the course cost will be economic per student, the GISTC will proceed to develop a schedule for the course working with those who would like to attend.
Please note that although coordinated training can save substantial money on the cost of courses and greatly minimizes travel expense, students need to be flexible on schedules so that we can accomodate as many people as possible. We obtain our least expensive per student rate when we reach the maximum of 12 students for a class.
