North Dakota GIS Conference 2007: Workshops
Intro to Geodatabases
Presented by: Ward, GIS Specialist/Marketing Manager, Pro-West and Associates, Inc.
GIS Technology is always changing and keeping up with these changes can be a daunting task. This workshop will focus on the newest and most beneficial GIS development, the geodatabase. The geodatabase brings advanced capabilities in data maintenance, power, data storage, and data distribution. Existing data such as coverages, shapefiles, and CAD drawings can all be imported into this new format where the data can be better maintained and distributed. Demonstrations will be given that will compare the various levels of geodatabases (personal, file and enterprise) and how to import existing data into the new format. Other topics covered will include how maintenance activities can be streamlined, how data can be exported into a variety of formats, and setting up topology rules.
Advanced Editing in ArcGIS 9.2
Presented by: Ward, GIS Specialist/Marketing Manager, Pro-West and Associates, Inc.
During this workshop, participants will learn several advanced editing exercises via the advanced editing, editor, COGO, and topology toolbars. Tools such as traverse, inverse, rotate, extend/trim, proportion, and construct features will be covered, including examples in creating, populating and using COGO fields. A manual with instruction will be provided.
