OGC Web Map Service Now Available

The North Dakota GIS Hub offers an Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Web Map Service (WMS). Although this WMS has been set up for use by non-ESRI products and applications, if you are using ArcGIS 9.x or above you can use this OGC-compliant map service.

The WMS was developed with assistance in the form of technical help and a grant, both from the U.S. Geological Survey. The primary purpose of this WMS is to allow the North Dakota GIS Hub to serve data to The National Map. GIS Hub layers are combined into the one WMS though if there is enough demand we can create more specific map services similiar to the GIS Hub's ESRI-formatted map services.
