Coordinated GIS Training - May 2005

The GIS Technical Committee has been promoting and providing coordinated GIS training since February 2002. Classes are typically held in the North Dakota Department of Transportation Training room. In this training an ESRI instructor is brought in to Bismarck and the cost of the class is divided amongst the students. Historically the Information Technology Department (ITD) collected the payment from the students then provided the multiple payments to ESRI for processing.

ESRI stopped allowing multiple payments, citing that it was too much work for them to process the multiple forms of payment. The only other options would be to pay ESRI an additional 15% for them to continue processing the multiple payments, or to ask students to register on the ESRI web site for the class, but at the full price of the course. Fortunately, ITD has agreed to accept multiple payments from the students, then arrange a single payment to ESRI.
