Non-ArcGIS Desktop (OGC)
Non-ArcGIS Desktop software includes a number of open source GIS desktop packages listed in the Types of Services – Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Format section.
WFS Steps:
- Determine the URL of the server and service to use, follow these steps:
- The server URL to use is found in the REST. For example, go to ndgishub.nd.gov/arcgis/rest/services
- Click on the Features link then click on Features/Geology
- Scroll to the bottom of the page
- Click on the WFS link
- Find and copy one of the xlink:href URLs, e.g., http://ndgishub.nd.gov/arcgis/services/Features/Geology/MapServer/WFSServer?
- Paste this into the URL field. For example in Gaia the screen will look something like this:
WCS Steps:

- Scroll to the bottom of the page
- Click on the WCS link
- Find and copy one of the xlink:type URLs, e.g., http://ndgishub.nd.gov/arcgis/services/All_Imagery/MapServer/WCSServer
- Paste this into the URL field. For example in gvSIG the screen will look something like this:
