New and Updated Data Information
February 10, 2006
The Bismarck-Mandan 2005 aerial photography is available on the Hub, both inside and outside of the state firewall. If you are behind the firewall and are able to connect to the Hub database, use the NDHUB.IMAGE_BISMAN2005 layer which is on the database GISRAS (service 5154). If you are behind or outside of the firewall you have several choices:
- Use the ESRI-format image web service "ras_aerialphotos_6inch" with ArcGIS.
- Use the OGC-compliant Web Map Service "NDWMS_GeneralInfo" and select the "Aerial 6inch Photos" layer with ArcGIS or other WMS-capable GIS application.
- View the data in The National Map and in the Hub Explorer.
- Download the data from the GIS Hub file server.
More information on accessing the Hub via a direct connect to the database or a connection via the web can be found in the Help Area.
Metadata for this layer can be found by using ArcCatalog if you are connected to the Hub database or via the web by using the Metadata Explorer, clicking on the Browse tab, then clicking on the Raster Services or Downloadable GIS Hub Raster Data links.
The GIS Technical Committee would like to thank the cities of Bismarck and Mandan for supplying this data.
