ArcMap/ArcView Direct Connect

If you are using ArcGIS version 9.0 or higher, you can connect while you are in ArcMap or in ArcCatalog. If you are in ArcMap, select the "Add Data..." menu item to get the dialog:

If you are in ArcCatalog, expand the "Database Connections" item:

In either tool, double click the "Add Spatial Database Connection" and fill out the dialog window that appears:

Replace the User Name, and Password with your information. Click the Test Connection button. If the text turns gray, your connection is successful. Click OK to exit the dialog.
