North Dakota GIS Users Conference - October 23-25, 2006
The North Dakota GIS Users Conference was a very successful event with a record 146 registered attendees from state agencies, counties, cities, higher education, utilities, and businesses attending presentations, workshops, and an exhibit area. Approximately 49% of the participants were from state agencies, 17% from businesses, 13% from higher education, 10% from counties, 5% from federal agencies, 3% from cities, and 3% from utilities. There were also 44 non-registered walk-ins. The conference was held at the North Dakota Heritage Center and the Comfort Inn in Bismarck. The theme was "Spatial Strategies" with a focus on industry trends, new technologies, data sharing and distribution, and practical application of GIS.
The Users Conference was kicked off by a keynote presentation in the Heritage Center from former Wyoming Governor Jim Geringer.
