Internet Based GIS Solutions

How can local and regional government organizations meet the varied needs of GIS users from both inside and outside their organizations? The answer is to use an internet based GIS application. This presentation will discuss developing applications that serve multi-tiered functions, such as, intranet (internal) GIS services, internet (on the web) data distribution and data subscription services. We will address questions about developing searches, data related specifics unique to each type of site and "How much is too much?" when it comes to serving data. ArcIMS software will be used to demonstrate the process of developing and implementing an internet based GIS application.
