State Employment Opportunities
Locating Job Vacancies:
Each state agency is responsible for advertising job openings and making hiring
decisions for their department. Facility Management only accepts applications
for advertised positions within its divisions.

Applying for a particular position:
Use the official State Application Form SFN 10950 (1-05). You may complete
the application and apply for the advertised position online. You may also
pick up an application form from our office, which is located at 600 East
Boulevard Avenue; Bismarck, ND 58505; 4th floor of the Capitol Tower. You
may also pick up an application form from your local Job Service office or
the Human Resource Management Services office. Your application must be received
in our office by the deadline date indicated on the job announcement.
When filling out the application form, specify the position title and number of the vacant position on your application. Please fill out the application completely, providing in detail all of the information requested, if you have volunteered and the work is related to the position you are applying for, be sure to list this information. You may attach a resume or other supplemental information to the application form. The information that you provide on the application form will be reviewed by Human Resource Management Services to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications for the position.
Preference will be given to certain veterans and spouses of veterans as required by North Dakota statute. To claim Veterans' Preference you must meet certain criteria and substantiate your claim by furnishing a DD214 (or comparable document which serves as certificate of release or discharge) and any other required supporting documentation at the time your submit your application.
Selection process:
When we reach the deadline date for accepting applications we will take all
the applications to Human Resource Management Services for their review. Human
Resource Management Services will identify those who appear to possess the
relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the
duties and responsibilities of the position. The applicants are evaluated
and scored by experience, we are then provide the names of the top candidates
to call for an interview.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Volunteers are a tremendous asset to Facility Management. We locate them at
the Capitol Building Information Desk. These volunteers assist visitors and
employees in locating meeting rooms, state agencies and various other tasks
as needed. They also assist visitors with tourist information for the Capitol
complex as well as around the State of North Dakota. If you are interested
