USPS Scheduled Pickup Times: Mail is picked up from the collection box on ground floor of the Capitol Tower (elevator lobby) and from the Central Mailing Bureau at 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day.
MAIL DEADLINES: State Agencies must have all Presort to the mailroom by 4:00 p.m. All USPS mail must be in the mailroom by 4:30 p.m. each day.

The Central Mailing Bureau was placed in operation in August 1941. Two clerks were placed in charge of this bureau, the Chief Clerk, Mr. J.E. Belk, a retired U.S. Postal Railway Clerk, provided advise and assistance to the departments in the matter of proper classification of mail. In 2003 we ran 888,000 pieces of mail - dollar amount of $489,876.73. we have one full time person and a part-time employee that helps out a few hours in the afternoon.
