Memorial Hall : The light-colored walls are made of Yellowstone Travertine and the staircase wall is Black Belgian Marble. The large chandeliers, represent a head of wheat, these were the most expensive item ($1,140.00 each) put in the Capitol Building at the time of construction. They are 12 feet high, 30 inches in diameter and they weigh about 1,000 pounds each. Each chandelier has 109 little light bulbs and two large ones at the top and bottom.
The glass on the window wall and above each revolving door was replaced in June 1993.
In 1982 Rambush Company of New York, refurnished the large columns, handrails, brass grilles, window frames, revolving doors and the light fixtures. The light fixtures were also rewired at this time.
The original plan called for Premier Loredo Chiaro Marble in Memorial Hall, The walls were substituted with Yellowstone travertine for a considerable savings.
