Re-Education Requirements
Re-education To Teach At Another Level Or In Another Content Area: Elementary Endorsement: 67.1-02-03-01
Reeducation of a certified teacher for elementary school teaching may be accomplished by completing a college-approved elementary teacher education program of twenty-six semester hours or forty quarter hours including a regular classroom student teaching experience of six quarter hours or a minimum of five consecutive weeks between grades kindergarten through sixth. A verified successful year of college-supervised internship with credit may be substituted for student teaching. The course work must contain the elementary methods in reading, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies along with additional appropriate elementary education course work. Reeducation for the elementary endorsement must be completed prior to or within two years of assignment to teach at the elementary level.
