Enterprise Project Management
What is EPM?
Enterprise Project Management (EPM) is a process that coordinates projects across the enterprise and provides project management guidance to all agencies. EPM seeks to provide the following benefits:
- Instill best practices to maximize project successes and leverage expensive project expertise resources.
- Provide expertise and support to project managers.
- Provide ongoing process improvement approaches that, over time, will provide an even greater chance for successful projects.
What are Best Practices?
The EPM process is facilitated by the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), a service within ITD’s Policy and Planning Division, and advised by the EPM Advisory Group, a small committee of agency project managers. The Project Management User Group (PMUG) is a larger group of all those interested in project management, who discuss related topics and issues.
The EPM website offers a broad spectrum of resources including the North Dakota Project Management Guidebook. The PM Guidebook (1.8Mb pdf) includes a multitude of standardized tools including templates and procedures that can be easily adapted by agency project managers.
The Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) is committed to researching quality Project Management training opportunities and certification information for the betterment of Project Management in North Dakota.
