The purpose of the Grief/Loss (Growing Through Loss Program) is to provide a supportive group learning experience for grieving and depressed youth that facilitates healing, an understanding of how grief and loss issues influence behavior, growth and change at the heart level, and the development of positive coping techniques. Participants learn to support one another while being educated in grief and loss issues, character, anger management, behavior modification & life skills. Youth learn to define future goals through the creation of a personal mission statement and consider how to integrate their losses into a sense of purpose that turns their focus outward and enables them to help other.
