Careers In Corrections:Correctional Officer

A CO is an entry level security position with the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (NDDOCR). CO's are responsible for protecting the public, staff, and inmates in a multitude of areas inside and outside the prison walls. A CO position with the NDDOCR offers an individual the opportunity to grow, a different challenge each day, and a feeling of accomplishment.

Who can apply to be a CO?

• To apply for a Correctional Officer position you must:
• Be a U.S. Citizen or be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the US.
Meet minium qualifications listed in the job description.
• Complete State Application Form.
• Successfully complete a criminal record and a standard background check.
