Careers In Corrections: Applying for a Job
The State North Dakota Employment Application, SFN 10950, is the official document to be used when applying for employment with the State of North Dakota. Applicants may complete an application and apply for advertised positions online. Blank state applications may be obtained online, from the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations, Human Resource Management Service, or Job Service office. To be considered for employment, you must submit a separate application for each position for which you applying. Legible photocopies are acceptable. Your application(s) must be received in the appropriate Personnel Office by the deadline date indicated on the specific job announcement.
Please ensure that you specify the position title and number of the vacant position on each application. Also ensure that you complete the application in its entirety, including other documents such as resume, cover letter, and transcripts as instructed on the job announcement. The information that you provide when you apply will be reviewed by the Personnel Office to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications for the position.
Preference will be given to certain veterans and spouses of veterans as required by North Dakota Statute. To claim Veterans' Preference you must meet certain criteria and substantiate your claim by furnishing a DD214 (or comparable document which serves as certificate of release or discharge) and any other required supporting documentation at the time of application.
