The Education Department at the James River Correctional Center provides Adult Basic Education and GED classes and tutoring. Computer classes are offered along with Microsoft Office Certifications. Classes are also given for applied math, re-entry, resume writing, job interviewing, and money management. College courses are available through correspondence.

RELIGIOUS PROGRAMS Religious programming, spiritual guidance, and pastoral counseling is available from full-time and part-time chaplains who are both denominational and ecumenical. Numerous Bible study groups, RELIGIOUS STUDIES AND SERVICES and church services are conducted each week. Every effort is made to meet the religious and spiritual needs of inmates.
