OUR MISSION: To provide innovative, culturally appropriate, substance abuse prevention strategies to local communities. Who we are: The overall role of the North Dakota Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinators (PC) is to help local communities enhance their capacity to address issues related to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. We provide culturally appropriate technical assistance, consultation, guidance, and resources to: schools/universities/colleges, law enforcement, churches, community organizations, workplaces, persons or groups interested in prevention issues in North Dakota. The PC also serves as a liaison for North Dakota Department of Human Services – Division of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services providing updated and pertinent prevention information. PC’s offer: Brochures, posters, public service announcements, health fairs Educational programs for youth, families, workplaces, and communities Drug- and alcohol-free activities Coalition-building and multi-agency collaboration Help promote establishment of drug and alcohol policies and laws. |
