Parents: Military Call to Active Duty
If Military Mobilization affects your family contact Child Support Enforcement as soon as possible.
Child Support Enforcement will then issue income withholding to the Defense Finance & Accounting Service (DFAS) for those noncustodial parents subject to income withholding. Noncustodial parents should be aware that there may be a delay before the income withholding to DFAS takes effect and should be prepared to make payments in the meantime to the State Disbursement Unit (SDU), PO Box 7280, Bismarck, ND 58507-7280. Payments made to the SDU must include the noncustodial parent's identifying information (social security number or person number). To receive credit for payments, the payments must be processed by the SDU; the noncustodial parent should not make payments directly to the custodial parent.

The obligation will continue to accrue as the court has ordered. Payments will be processed as they are received. Direct deposit of support payments is available to custodial parents. For further information about direct deposit, visit the Child Support Enforcement website or call Customer Service.
Providing Child Support Enforcement with a forwarding address will help ensure that payments and other correspondence are directed correctly. Please e-mail us at sosdu@nd.gov to make any address changes.
If your child support order includes health care coverage for your child (medical support), you need to consider options for ensuring that coverage continues.
An authorization to release information must be completed if you want Child Support Enforcement to communicate about your case with another person in your absence. A form can be downloaded below or call Customer Service for other options.
