Olmstead Decision: Summer 2000

Following the Supreme Court decision on Olmstead vs. L.C., the department's Executive Office established a work group to create a White Paper report. The report, which appears below, contains information relative to the current system of delivering services in state-operated institutions and community-based settings throughout North Dakota. It also contains the recommendations of the work group for further activity related to the Olmstead Decision.

DHS is grateful for the interest and involvement of so many North Dakotans in launching discussion pertinent to this important issue. Particular thanks go to the Regional Human Service Centers, and to the numerous advocacy organizations for their assistance in organizing and notifying the public about the public dialogue meetings.
